11:11…All The Scoop!

The Meaning of 11:11

Note from KathyDV. This info came across my Facebook wall and I felt it interesting enough to share…enjoy!

Those of you following me for some time know that I like to get information from various esoteric tools, and share it in case you find it provocative and insightful. The object of my most recent attention is today’s date - November 11, 2009, or 11:11:11 (by adding 2 + 9 of 2009).

This is the first time this master number has shown up in a date (in what I understand our lifetime!), which is big energy on a number of levels.

To begin, 11 is the master psychic’s number, and focuses on intuition, spiritual truth, ideals and being a conduit for high vibration energy and insights. It’s not about being risky, reckless or even speculative; in fact, it’s the opposite. It’s making choices and decisions from a deep knowingness that transcends the surface ‘look’ of a situation, circumstances or relationship.

When you (or any of us) operate from that deep inner place, you are following your unique insights, which is the only place to enhance our true creativity. Looking for the short, obvious answers stunts our growth, the remedy of which is to know what we know and be responsible for it.

The primary energy of 11:11:11 is (naturally enough) 1 energy, which is about leadership, new beginnings, fresh starts, pioneering, independence, self-awareness, consciousness, leading your own life and taking care of your own needs; however, the shadow side of 1 energy includes being selfish, arrogant, aggressive, egotistical and lacking tact.

The 1 + 1 energy of 11 is the number of connection — if you know that 1 + 1 equals two, but it doesn’t feeeeel right, it’s a sign that you’ve overlooked some details and your intuition is talking to you to help you connect the dots.

The 11.11 energy invites being fully accountable for your actions and how you are living your life from an evolved perspective. When not fully expressed, the shadow energy of 11 is living in fantasy, instability, paranoia, un-balanced, ignorant, manipulative, with an irrational fear of change and self-sabotage.

It’s a powerful number that can offer clarity or delusion, depending on how you relate to it.

The 11 energy helps us to see things from different perspectives — even the 11 (when laid sideways) becomes an equal sign (=).

And 11 is made up of two 1s, symbolizing humanity by the 1 looking at itself (think 1:1 with the colon as the mirror). The 11 energy represents both the one person but also the ‘we’ that is formed by two. It is the individual reflecting on oneself at a deep level (not just the surface image) to grow into self-acceptance and more full contribution to the whole.

11:11:11 (the date today) adds up to the number 6, which is the number of domestic responsibilities, home, family, stability, accountability and balance. The 6 energy teaches how to make the ‘right’ decisions, to rise above small-mindedness and to see the hidden aspects of your priorities and decisions — they have to go beyond your own interests to include your “family” (whether biological or chosen).

There aren’t any quick fixes in the six vibration; instead, it’s about patience and taking time to let things grow (as we do with children).

In this energy, you are the parent — to shepherd positive growth, to teach, be a good role model, and be fully expressed from the inside out — for yourself and the people in your world. This may require some healing from the inside out too, which means letting go of that which you know no longer serves you emotionally, physically, intellectually, energetically, spiritually. This is the time to release those old patterns and heal, as the power of profound insights supports your change.

May you discover your insights and illuminated path for yourself and your business by using the 11:11:11 energy today and beyond.

Cheetahs have Fingerprints Also…well, kinda

_46402624_p1010151Fingerprints’ identify cheetahs By Jody Bourton Earth News reporter

Conservationists have developed a new technique to identify cheetahs in the wild from just their paw prints. The technique works in a similar way to that which allows humans to be identified by fingerprints. By photographing paw prints in the wild researchers can monitor cheetahs without ever seeing them. It is hoped that this non-invasive technique may aid conservation efforts to protect the cheetah population in the wild.

The footprint identification technique (FIT) has already helped researchers study other big cats and endangered species including bengal tigers and polar bears. Now the method has been developed for the first time with cheetahs in a international collaboration involving conservation organisations N/a’an ku sê sanctuary, Wildtrack, AfriCat and Chester Zoo.

The technique is based on the assumption that every paw print is unique to that cheetah and can be identified similar to a human fingerprint. The local San people in Namibia have been able to identify individual animals from their tracks for many years.

Whereas each human fingerprint has a unique pattern of ridges and whorls, each cheetah produces a paw print of unique size, shape and character.

It is extremely important because you can never catch and collar all cheetah to find out about their population size and structure, their interactions and how the population changes over time. Digital photographs of each cheetah’s prints are taken and fed into a computer database. When a new print in sighted and recorded, a bespoke computer program then scans these photographs, recording the distances between specific points on the paw print, until it finds a match.

So far, researchers have photographed and taken measurements of footprints from wild and captive cheetahs held in N/a’an ku sê sanctuary in central Namibia, Africa and Chester Zoo in the UK. They now hope to increase the size of their database to include many more wild cheetahs, allowing the cats to be identified in a non-invasive way.

Paw prints from individual animals will enable scientists to understand the movements and interactions of cheetahs plus how many there are in a certain area.

“It is extremely important because you can never catch and collar all cheetah to find out about their population size and structure, their interactions and how the population changes over time,” says Florian Weise co-ordinator of the N/a’an ku sê research programme. This technique will also enable problem animals to be identified and relocated protecting them for future generations. Cheetahs in Namibia that stray out of conservation zones and onto farmland are often killed by farmers who fear they are a threat to their livestock.

In the first year of study on commercial farmland in the Windhoek area of Namibia researchers have identified 18 resident cheetahs in an area of 20,000 ha. Out of this population, two cheetahs were identified as problem animals and subsequently relocated. The team hope to develop the technique so that they can make it available to other conservation programmes across Africa. They also aim to continue their work with local farmers and land owners to reduce cheetah and human conflict.

From Gina Lake

3486051_blogLOVE TRANSCENDS APPEARANCES from Gina’s blog

Appearances seem so important. Most of us really believe that our appearance is important, and we work very hard at having a certain appearance. This is especially true for women, of course, and this conditioning is very difficult to overcome because there’s a lot of fear that not looking good will have drastic consequences. How we look becomes a top priority for many and often remains that way right up until death. My mother, for instance, insisted on “putting on her face” even on her deathbed after her body had been diminished to skin and bones by cancer. Even then, she was still trying to improve herself, still not seeing the beauty that she was as this old dying woman, still not allowing herself to just be as she was.

Our appearance is not entirely irrelevant or unimportant; it does affect how others initially react to us. However, it is not as important as we make it. We suffer over it and try so hard to look other than the way we do. All of this trying is exhausting and takes time and energy away from what is more fulfilling and important in life. That’s the problem—when we are consumed with our appearance, we are not giving our attention and energy to other things that might be more meaningful, more fulfilling, and more rewarding. We might not realize that cultivating kindness is more rewarding than cultivating beauty. We might fail to notice the beauty that is here, within ourselves and others, just as we are. Inner beauty and outer beauty can be at odds, since there is only so much attention and energy we have. Where your energy and attention go reflects what you value. Do you value outer beauty more than inner beauty? You might say that you don’t, but where are you putting your energy and attention? What are your thoughts on?

The funny thing is that others love us for our inner beauty, for the expression of Essence that we are, although they may be attracted to us by our outer beauty. That allure doesn’t mean much if they don’t also fall in love with us. What people fall in love with is not our outer beauty (that’s called attraction or infatuation, not love) but something much more subtle—our being. They love us because they see lovable qualities that belong to Essence: goodness, creativity, kindness, joy for life, patience, compassion, courage, wisdom, strength, clarity, and so on.

The beauty of getting old with someone is that there is an opportunity to really get that appearances don’t matter. You watch as your beloved’s appearance changes before your eyes into an old man or an old woman, but you may love him or her more than ever, not because of how your beloved looks, but because you love your beloved’s being—you love how he or she is in the world and how he or she is with you. That’s when you really get that all this emphasis on appearances is false. Appearances never were that important. You only thought they were.

Many others believe that too—but that doesn’t make it true. People are under the illusion that appearances are far more important than they are, which does create that reality to some extent. It makes this seem so, and it creates a culture that is sadly misled into putting too much energy and attention on such things. This makes it difficult for us to discover the real truth. But life is wise and ages us so that we can discover this. It is perhaps one of the greatest lessons of our lives, although it may take a lifetime to learn it.

If we see this, then aging is fortunate, as it gives us the gift of finally getting to relax and stop striving to improve ourselves. We finally get to put our attention on what is important—on loving others (and ourselves) just the way we are. This is the greatest gift we can give ourselves and others, and the most important thing we can do in life.

My New Man…Thich Nhat Hanh

Don’t worry, Eckhart, you are still my main spiritual-teaching kinda guy, but I must admit to a new love. I stumbled across a great site that sells the most amazing Buddhist statues, jewelry and it has a FUN name, to boot. Visit BigHappyBuddha.com and check it out for yourself. Anyway, they have this daily Buddhist you can sign up for and I did. The featured writer since I signed up has been Thich Nhat Hanh and I am smitten! He lasers into the core of just what I need to hear every single day. I have been sharing some of his quotes on Facebook and Twitter and now you have my secret source.

If any of you have discovered him, let me know!, let’s chat Thich Nhat Hanh!

Myself, I want to be informed about what is going on in the world. I want to be informed, but that does not mean that I have to listen to the news three times a day. I think there is some kind of vacuum in us we want to fill up; that is why we buy so many newspapers and magazines and why we view so much television. We do not need that much information. I think maybe five minutes daily is enough. Sometime we can survive several months without any news bulletins. And you have friends who can tell you what is important that has happened.

~ Thich Nhat Hanh

Great Time in Duluth!

I met lots of fabulous, new people (and hands) at Duluth this past weekend! It was a nice venue for an expo (in spite of construction) and I had FUN. My shadow, Troy Schmitt, and I were right across from Brigid’s House (official bookstore) and loved it. I even got two new shirts from BH…cute!

One thing I noticed was how many people had Social Hermit heart lines. They love people, enjoy being around them, but gotta have that recharge time.

There were also so many families there, I loved seeing entire families at the metaphysical expo. Next year it will be in September, which will be better timing for all, I do believe.
